Leap 2 - Crossroads

Bustling café with people sitting at tables and shelves stocked with items. The atmosphere is lively and social, with casual conversations.

Building Pathways in Crossroads

Crossroads is a community defined by resilience. Yet many families continue to face limited access to specialised education and long-term career opportunities.

LEAP 2 has been serving learners in Crossroads since 2007, building strong academic foundations in mathematics and science. Through its collaboration with LEAP Science and Maths Schools, The Hands On Foundation has worked to strengthen and expand the Technical and Engineering Faculty on campus.

Classrooms were refurbished. Modular facilities were introduced. Spaces were adapted specifically to support technical instruction in Engineering Graphic Design, Civil Technology and Electronics.

But again, the real measure of impact lies with the learners themselves.

One Grade 11 student reflected:

“I feel so good and inspired to be part of the technical engineering faculty. It’s opening doors for me, more opportunities. I’m excited about learning how things work and testing my critical thinking. I want to become a structural engineer.”

The Technical and Engineering Faculty gives learners structure, direction and exposure to fields that once felt distant. It allows them to connect theory with practice and begin forming a concrete vision of who they want to become.

At LEAP 2, technical education is not just another subject offering. It is a pathway into a tertiary study, a trade or a leadership role within engineering and construction industries.
